Brother Winston Philip Garcia

We are always excited to hear from Brother Winston Garcia, whose wit and passion, coupled with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, make him one of the Caribbean’s finest Catholic Lay Evangelists.  Brother Winston serves as the Moderator of the People of Praise Community of Arima, Trinidad with overall responsibility for visioning, leadership, pastoral care and music ministry.

Brother Winston is zealous about preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and has ministered in Word and song in North America and throughout the Caribbean. His greatest aspiration is to help people find the heart of God through Praise, Worship and the Word of God.

Winston holds an undergraduate degree in Musical Arts from the University of the West Indies and an MBA in Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the Anglia Ruskin University of Cambridge.  He is a big-hearted guy who is quite accomplished in the kitchen.  He loves his family, his dogs and West Indies cricket. Brother Winston will speak on the theme “Spiritual Revolution” at the Prayer Meeting on Friday 22nd October 2021 to set the context for the Sound the Trumpet 16: Current of Grace and the 50th Anniversary of Catholic Charismatic Renewal in Trinidad and Tobago and will close out the Conference on Sunday 24th October with a talk titled “Building a Culture of Pentecost: Abounding in the Current of Grace”.

Archbishop Charles Jason Gordon, PhD

Archbishop Charles Jason Gordon needs no introduction to the people of the Archdiocese of Port of Spain. He is a dynamic communicator who seeks to bring Good News to all of God’s people, especially the poor and is considered a bishop who is both a listener and true leader.

Born March 17, 1959 he was in the business of life saving from his youth, albeit with the Royal Life Saving Society.  Archbishop Gordon pursued graduate studies at the Catholic University in Leuven, Belgium (1986–88) completing a Master’s in Theology, Magna Cum Laude and a BA in philosophy. In 1991 he was ordained a priest at the age of 32 in Trinidad and completed his PhD at Heythrop, the Jesuit College in the University of London (1996–2000). It was there that he learned that he was dyslexic.

He has lectured at the Seminary of St. John Vianney and the Uganda Martyrs, he was Vicar of Administration for the Archdiocese of Port of Spain (2006–2011); principal of the Caribbean School of Catholic Communications (CSCC); and continues to be a member of the Living Water Community.

Archbishop Gordon was appointed and consecrated a Bishop in 2011 and served other dioceses before being installed as the Archbishop of Port of Spain on December 27, 2017.  He is loved by the Church in Trinidad and Tobago who have been treated to his celebrations of daily and weekend Masses during the lockdown of the Covid-19 pandemic.   Archbishop J as he is fondly called, will open this year’s Sound the Trumpet 16 Conference addressing us on the Conference theme “Current of Grace”.

She is a woman of faith who is renowned for her dynamic preaching and teaching of the Word of God in Conferences, Rallies, Prayer Meetings, Missions and service to the poor …. wherever the Spirit of God may lead her.

After the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, a profound, life-changing, spiritual experience, Deborah would feel a greater need to devote all her time and energy to the service of those in need and consequently ordered her life according to her renewed relationship with Jesus Christ.  She is the foundress of the Eternal Light Covenant Community located at #62 Back Street in Tunapuna, Trinidad as well as the co-founder of the Catholic Bible Institute in Trinidad which offers programmes in Scripture and Pastoral Care.

At present, Sister Debbie serves as the Director of Pontifical Mission Societies in the Archdiocese of Port of Spain. Her mission has taken her from Trinidad and Tobago to Africa, Europe, the Americas and throughout the Caribbean.

In September 2020 she was one of four outstanding women of faith in the Archdiocese of Port of Spain to be awarded the Benemerenti Medal by Pope Francis for years of “long and exceptional service” to the Catholic Church.  Her contributions clearly created indelible milestones locally, regionally and internationally in the history of the Church and more particularly in the lives of thousands whom she has evangelised and served.

Sister Debbie first spoke at Sound the Trumpet 3, At the Midnight Hour in 2008 and returns in 2021, in the golden jubilee of Catholic Charismatic Renewal in Trinidad and Tobago to give a “A Prophetic Response to 50 Years of the Current of Grace”.
